More Exercise
If you feel your dog could be more calm and friendly with your kids, or your dog is a little bit more feral at the moment, increasing their exercise can give them the workout they need but will also give them a better experience. We know dogs love activity, but if they get bored, turning up the dial on the exercise meter can be the best place to begin.
Reduce Their Boredom
Giving your dog more exercise in a mental sense will give them a lot more to do and will make them feel better. We all benefit from a wide variety of exercises. And by incorporating more dog puzzles you may see a big difference. You can also purchase a wide variety of toys that you can leave out in the yard for them to play with if they need extra stimulation, which means you don't have to be with them all the time. The extra running in and out of the house may cause you to get fed up with having to open the door for them to get out every few minutes though. You might need to consult a pet door installation company to get something installed so they can go grab toys without your help.
Remove Their Collar
It's a little thing, but how do you feel when you take your belt or earrings off? If your dog has the collar on all of the time and it jingles, you may want to think about taking it off at night so they can enjoy a little bit more freedom. The noise of jingling dog tags can bother dogs more than you realize, so give them a little break now and again. You also get them an embroidered dog collar with all of their info on it so they don’t ever need loud the dog tags.
Engage Their Scents
Giving your dog time to exercise their nose is great for them because they get to explore the world's wide variety of odors. Engaging them in scent work is incredibly rewarding and helps to burn off physical and mental energy. In addition, it will improve the relationship between you and your dog. It's win-win!
Treat Them
The sky's the limit in how you can treat them. While you may think that they would benefit from a dog toy, sometimes a change in their diet is going to give them a spring in their step. While there's a lot of debate over canine nutrition, you know what are good choices. A good quality raw bone could be all they need to have a change of pace. Just make sure if you decided to give them a raw bone that you check read this Guide to Feeding Raw Bones For Dogs
Proper One-on-One Time
When it's just you and the dog it's the perfect way to improve their quality of life. When there are other pets in the household, it becomes more difficult. But giving your dog quality time, when it's just you and them, can make all the difference.
