Fun ways to pamper Fido!

Aug 22, 2020

We all know dogs are “pawsome,” but knowing how to pamper them is a challenge in its own right. They’re very different from people!

In general, dogs don’t like sitting down to read a nice book or playing musical instruments. They have other tastes

Not sure how to pamper your dog? Take a look at some of these great ideas.

Find A Food Your Dog Loves

If there’s one thing that all dogs love without reservation, it’s good food. Feed a dog a delicious treat, and it will love you forever. It’s a gift they’re not liable to forget quickly.

Finding food that your dog loves isn’t as straightforward as heading down to the shops and picking up the first bag you find. It takes a little more consideration than that.

Dogs, just like people, have sophisticated palates. And they know what they like and what they don’t. If something doesn’t quite taste right, they’ll turn their nose up at their regular food, and look for tasty morsels elsewhere - not what you want.

Keep rotating foods and keep tabs on your dog’s behaviour. If there seems to be one that they really like, then stick with it. If not, switch it up.

Make Your Pooch Look Good To Feel Good

When dogs have shiny coats and trimmed nails, they not only look good, they also feel better - just like people. Dog grooming, therefore, should be a part of your regular itinerary - something you do once per month.

Groomers help to keep your pooch healthy in several ways. For starters, they help fight against fleas and skin conditions. And they also assist with things like paw and oral hygiene - things that owners can find challenging to take care of themselves.

Get Them Learning

They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but that’s not entirely true. Dogs, like people, are capable of learning new skills at any age. And keeping their minds sharp is something that keeps them happy.

Learning is actually a lot of fun for dogs. They like new challenges and interacting with their owners. Plus, at the end of a stimulating session, they’re much more likely to sleep quietly in their dog bed.

Buy The Latest Gear

The pet industry is always on the lookout for new products that will improve the lives of both owners and their pooches. Choosing correct gear can help improve your dog’s quality of life and make them happier.

For instance, you might decide to forgo the traditional collar and use a harness instead. While it is a little more challenging to put it on, it helps take the stress off the neck, reducing choking.

You can also reward your dog with new toys. Interestingly, dogs seem to intrinsically understand that these gifts are for them, and love using them.

Ultimately, dogs want their lives to be fun and active. The more that you can facilitate that, the better off they will be. Pampering your pooch is all about improving their lives.
